Biography
Gunnar Knechtel is a German photographer ( born 1970 ) based in Barcelona/Spain.
After studying photography in Berlin ¨Lette Verein ¨in the early nineties, Gunnar Knechtel worked as an assistant photographer in Hamburg before moving to London in 1995 to start photographing feature stories for various international magazines. He has lived in Barcelona since 2000.
In addition to working on assignments ,he dedicates a lot time and passion photographing his personal stories.
Knechtel has a great interest in photographing people´s immediate surroundings, especially within extreme urban spaces.
